Sunny at Hawthorne Park
Sunshine has finally arrived at Hawthorne Park, melting some snows that were left after the rains that followed a torrent of snow, unending it seemed, covering the whole neighborhood three feet in white powder.
The perimeter road had been a horrible experience with slips and near misses as the road was reduced to a single lane barely enough to accomodate a single car. Four wheel drives were the only inhabitants of the circumferential pathway that became of the road that used to be two lanes. Now and then a family seems to enjoy the job of shovelling snow to clear their parking space and pathwalks leading to their units. My two kids enjoyed the snow mountain I have made behind our fence. These are now hardening ice, melting under the sunny Tuesday morning in the middle of January. Indeed a new year is born.
There is still snow on all of the grass field in the park and getting rid of the white stuff will prove to be a meany. What makes snow go away fast? Rain. Then the park becomes slushy, never a nice place to stroll with your snickers on. Rain boots would certainly do if you are really determined to shake off your winter woes.
Now I am reminded that I have to clean up the car, for "it's snowing" and "it's raining" had become invalid reasons to relegate on the deal - "If we have a brand new car, I will clean it everyday". Ahh I really ought to be careful comitting myself into any deals with my wife.
